Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando Disney Springs Review: Is It Worth It for Families?

Looking for a family-friendly hotel near Walt Disney World without the price tag of staying on property? We stayed at the Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando – Disney Springs Area during our December Disney vacation, and I quickly understood why this hotel has become such a popular option for families.

Between the complimentary breakfast, evening Kickback®, no resort fee, spacious rooms, and location near Disney Springs, there’s a lot of value included in your stay. Here’s what our family experienced—and what I think families should know before booking.

Why Consider the Drury Plaza Hotel Near Disney Springs?

The Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando – Disney Springs Area is an Official Walt Disney World Hotel located in the Disney Springs Resort Area. For families who want to stay close to Walt Disney World while getting more included with their hotel stay, it can offer a compelling alternative to a Disney-owned resort.

  • Complimentary hot breakfast

  • 5:30 Kickback® with evening food and drinks

  • Transportation to Walt Disney World theme parks

  • No resort fee

  • Location near Disney Springs

Our Room: Two Queens with a Disney Springs View

We stayed in a two-queen room in the Palm Wing with a balcony overlooking Disney Springs. One of my favorite surprises was being able to see the EPCOT fireworks from our room.

The room worked especially well for our family because of its practical layout. We had a spacious walk-in shower, two separate sinks—which made getting ready much easier—and a mini fridge for keeping drinks and snacks cold.

Complimentary Breakfast & 5:30 Kickback®

One of the biggest reasons the Drury Plaza Hotel stands out for families is how much food is included with your stay. Having breakfast before heading to the parks—and an evening meal option when we returned—added real value for our family.

Breakfast included options like:

  • Eggs

  • Breakfast potatoes

  • Large Mickey waffles

  • Pancakes

  • Biscuits and gravy

In the evening, the complimentary 5:30 Kickback® offered enough food that it could easily serve as dinner for our family.

During our stay, options included:

  • Penne pasta with Alfredo sauce

  • Chicken

  • Baked potato bar

  • Salad bar

  • Chips and salsa

  • Soup of the day

  • Three complimentary adult beverages per adult

A Few Family-Friendly Extras

One small perk that was a huge hit with my youngest was the complimentary popcorn, available daily from 4–8 PM. It’s a simple touch, but exactly the kind of thing kids remember.

Pool & Splash Pad

The hotel also has a pool and large splash pad, giving families an easy option for downtime away from the parks. This is especially helpful if you’re building a resort or rest day into a longer Walt Disney World vacation.

Location Near Disney Springs & Park Transportation

Location is another major advantage. The Drury Plaza Hotel is in the Disney Springs Resort Area, giving guests convenient access to Walt Disney World while staying off property.

The hotel also offers complimentary transportation to the Walt Disney World theme parks. If you plan to rely on hotel transportation rather than having your own car, I recommend checking the current shuttle schedule when planning your park days.

Who I Think the Drury Plaza Hotel Is Best For

I think the Drury Plaza Hotel is especially worth considering for families who want to stay close to Walt Disney World while getting more value from their hotel stay. The included breakfast and evening Kickback can help reduce food costs, while the spacious rooms and family-friendly amenities make it practical for traveling with kids.

It’s also a strong option for families who don’t necessarily need the full Disney Resort experience but still want a convenient location for their park days.

Is the Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando – Disney Springs Area Worth It?

For our family, yes. The combination of location, spacious accommodations, included meals, and family-friendly amenities made it an excellent value. I especially appreciated having conveniences that made our Disney days easier without adding extra costs at every turn.
